Shreve Abbey was founded by Andasin I in 620 to give thanks for his victory at Dyrisa. The original structures were completed in 632 and have been expanded many times.
Shreve is the both the seat of the Rekela of Daena and of the Serekela of Kanday, who are traditionally one and the same. Since completion of the Laranian temple in Dyrisa in 715, the Serekela tends to spend much of his time there. Although it has become common to speak of the "Archdiocesal seat at Dyrisa," this is technically incorrect.
Since 707, the Serekela has been Styfen Millard, 52, a shrewd and scholarly man who is one of Andasin IV’s closest and most trusted advisors. The Serekela has supported the Rekela of Perinore in his dispute with the Chabla of the Checkered Shield over Dovan and the northeast chapterhouses.
