This could be used to create a separate listing of the various Eras, and other such lists like Timeline of Religion.

Templates could be set up just like Timelines of world history and with various subsections: Year-based units include the Olympiad (four years), the Lustrum (five years), the Indiction (15 years), the Decade (10 years), the century(100 years), and the millennium (1,000 years).

Using a similar template (Nature timeline) but using a sideways Chart with the list of sections broken down like Timeline of the Middle Ages (410 CE – 1499 CE). Even expanding into another for Timeline of architecture as well.

Another way to split tables, Lists, etc. into a good Scale of Tinmeline is to use something similar to Geologic time scale, which uses <timeline> and Extension:TemplateData that is a module that needs to installed Extension:TemplateData. This data is stored as JSON.

Note: Table of geologic time has a table of colours set as the background alongside the sideways table and navboxes. This uses the Switch function within a template, you can then use keywords within your text to have background colouring. Maybe this could be done with all colouring across the wiki, especially handy for highlighting say Hundreds, Shires, Kingdoms, and other important words. Could even be used for actual highlighting of words too. So instead of having to hand code each and every word, or link for that matter, you can just call the fuction wihtin a template to turn the colour On or Off.

A similar style could also be creative and handy: Cladogram Creation Team uses a sideways family tree diagram (aka Clade) and the Template:Clade;

  • Template:Taxobox could be used as a base template too, which includes colours, class classifications, and image in a side box, which may be useful for such things at the start of an article/book to have quick links to the Kingdom, area, type, author, etc. listed for handy reference.
  • Using Template:Geological range/doc would be useful for various references. Such as an Era, Historic Period, a War, etc. shown as a quick timeline caption or some form of quick reference to show the current period. Especially within a region, a kingdom, and other data which can be overdone via text and over-complicate referencing.
  • Similarly, a combination of the above ways to use templates could be used for simple things such as if time-frame is BT or TR, with a colour for each, and any possible addons as required.
