Friends, Foes & Followers

  • Friends, Foes & Followers is a GM resource that uses a common format for presenting 2 pages of information about a character. The characters can be used in any way the GM sees fit; as NPC opponents, helpers or even emergency PCs for that unexpected player, making these resources no GM should be without.
With FFF 11, the layout of the character sheet has been finalized. Some of the changes include: grey header (to save on ink), acknowledgement moved to the illustration side of the page, added a credit for Brent Bailey (editor), added the star rating for the character on the text side of the page, removed the colour headers from the description and adventure hooks to make the document completely black and white, standardized the size of the description and adventure hook boxes.
The largest number of changes are to the stat box, including: new appearance section (including the character’s size, as per HM3 Character 6), new money/valuables section, new other equipment section, new load and encumbrance sections, and a separate section for missile weapons.
The most significant change is a whole new indexing system (included). This makes each character type a single three-digit number. Different characters will be indicated by a letter following the number.
With FFF 12, some minor changes have been made to the "final" layout introduced in FFF11. A revised and updated index has been included which explains the new numbering system for FFFs and which now includes the name of every FFF character released to date by HWG (Hârn Writer's Guild) including the FFF release number they can be found in. The header on the text/stat side has been coloured to match the section shown in the index. The rating system proved too cumbersome and has been eliminated. ~ Check what this Rating System was.

Colour LINK Text: Possible Link

Note: Hidden comments

Note: Anchor Points - Section linking WITHIN pages USE Section linking or To link to a section in the same page you can use displayed text, and to link to a section in another page displayed text.

Note: Section linking with arbitrary id USE . Be sure to use a name that is not likely to be duplicated. One way to do this is to incorporate the titles of the higher-level sections, at least in abbreviated form, e.g., Ontario-Natural_features for the "Natural features" subsection of the "Ontario" section of an article about the provinces of Canada. ADD inside Table Caption/Heaer Text

Friends Foes & Followers

Note: ADD TABLE, maybe even a page for each NPC with Page Name and code from Indexing?.

Note: This will be handy is finding example NPCs to use as inspirational ideas.

Note: Using this style and format, we can use this for creating a complete list of NPCs for each and every location. There are parts to each Character Profile that can enhance the overall characters' subsections and creation. ie.;

  • 328_2 Seaman.pdf (Ship captain)
  • 507_5 Fighting Order MH.pdf (Inquisitor of the Argent Order, {to ADD to relgious context} SIR BERADIN VEDRAS has Two loyal men-at-arms of the order accompany him. They are three of some thirty members of the Argent Order on the Misty Isle. a roaming Good Fighting Order Character example.)
  • FFF_420A_Tenant Officer.pdf (Tenant Officer – Reeve). ~ The position of manor reeve is normally held by the villein with the most unfree acres. Roul easily qualifies, as he holds five more acres than any other villein.
  • FFF_414A_Sage.pdf (Sage / Tutor). An excellent tutor as an alternative to MARYAEL. He is very knowledgeable about the region and much more approachable than the Save-K’norrian temple for those looking for information.
  • FFF_399B_Other Guild.pdf (Other (Guild) – Child). An example of a child.
  • FFF_320A_Miller.pdf (Miller (Former common squire).
  • FFF_302A_Apothecary.pdf (Apothecary).
  • FFF_301A_Alchemist.pdf (Alchemist).
  • FFF_105A_Jailer.pdf (Jailer).
  • 322_2 Ostler.pdf (Journeyman Ostler).
  • 408_1 Herdsman.pdf (Herdsman). The son of a shepherd, Ryke ran away from home at a young age. After working in a mine for a year and a day to earn his freedom, he struck out for the big city with dreams of fame and fortune.

Note: ADD a TABLE listing all Character Profiles, in the style of Kandáy Subinfeudation.

Note: ADD a complete list and Colour Links to sources. series Friends, Foes & Followers

Note: ADD a Harnic Dictionary, listing all internal LINKS to be found and edited for cross referencing all these pages together. ie. if it's a common word, create a table entry with it. Similar to the format used in FFF.
